Ted Reader: Quickie Grill Recipe number 7. Honey Lager Legs. Yes it’s there ‘A little bit sexy, a little bit decadent and they are chicken legs so, they are rich in flavour and we are making him fun. We have taken some prime air-chilled chicken legs here, and what you do to start of; you pull the skin down on the drumsticks. We are take some of my better butter, bound as seasoning, just going to sprinkle this all over top of it, 1-2 table spoons, we are making up whole bunch and I have number of them done right here.
Roll the round, its like this, get the seasoning out, we have preheated our grill, to 350- 400 degrees, medium heat. Don’t always have to cook on high, take a slice of bacon, spread it out on the canner, cutting board, start at the top, and wrap, the bacon take the all the way around, take a tooth pick to secure, right on the pier do that again.
Wrap it all the way around, secure with the toothpick. Here is our last one, nice and easy just like this wrap it around, we have a chicken drumsticks seasoned and wrapped bacon, already to go into the grill. Now there is a couple of different ways that you can do, you can grill these straight up, on the grill, with nothing or if you could get something fancy like this, this is a great grilling accessory and what it does is for chicken drumsticks just like this, it holds some right like that, nice and easy, nice and simple.
All right and then you do this indirectly on the grill. Nothing to complicated, so straight that how that when works. It will straight like that, or you can take a grill basket. This makes it nice and easy as well and alternate them back in forth, so you have the joint in one end. Here we go just like that, take the top of the basket and push it down, see whether in the place, and then that goes into the grill to start, you know I want to do this on low heat about 350 degrees just like you’ll be roasting in your oven, check it periodically, making sure that the bacon and chicken doesn’t burn, the bacons going to render out fast, the chicken likes to go render out fast, you have to be careful and keep an eye on it. Don’t put this on the grill, and you just leave make sure you stay with the grill and watch, what’s you are doing.
Now well the chicken drumsticks wrapped in bacon or cooking in our grill and basket or in the hanging rack. Let’s make our basting sauce, so this is the honey lager mustard sauce is very, very simple. We are going to take little half a cup of pure honey, nice liquid golden honey, and you have to take the same amount half a cup of my honey lager mustard, quick and easy, get a little bit of zinc to it, just like that.
Its awesome, and just stir it together. If you wanted to add a little juice or beer do they she cook but it’s not necessary the mustards made with beer. We are going to save this for basting as the chicken legs get cooked you don’t want to put the sauce to early because it will caramelize and burn, so you need to do this in the last one quarter of grilling time, where you see, I can hear the little bit of sizzle, bacons rendering, chicken starting to cook, so we’ll just flip it over a bit, tune the temperature right now, keep our eyes on it.
Let’s have look at this okay beautiful, nice and golden brown each ones. Its take a little bit longer, when you are in the rack, the hanging rack. Because its little more indirect in terms of the temperature. But what’s really great is that the fat renders, right out of it drips down, and easily get nice and crispy, these ones are almost fully cooked. What we are going to do is, we are going to take honey lager mustard, basting sauce, and we are going to start to past that up here.
Get that all in there, flip it over, whats great about the grill basket. He say, you only have to turn it once you don’t have do this, turning each peace, its one flip, one flipped time, so we do have a big flip, you can get all the pieces out of the grill very quickly. One of my favourite barbecue accessories, all right look how sticky this is fantastic. Take them out there we go. This is excellent, lets go back and forth with them. Make them look real pretty, there we have a honey lager chicken drumsticks, chicken drumsticks seasoning with my Better Butter Burger Seasoning, wrapped in bacon done low and slow on the grill based with the honey lager mustard sauce. I try it; it’s absolutely delicious, great for now, great for on your picnic quick and easy. You know it’s truly a recipe. Where, you can get sticky recipe.
