Whisky Buttermilk Butterscotch Sauce Recipe

We had this on top of Town Square Chess Squares at Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding house one day after touring the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg Tennessee.
Goes great on: Town Square Chess Squares
1 Cup sugar
.5 Cup Buttermilk
.5 Cup Butter
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
2 Tablespoons Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whisky
Combine sugar, buttermilk, and butter in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly and simmer until the sugar has melted and the mixture is smooth. Stir in the Jack Daniel’s Whisky.
Serve warm over Town Square Chess Squares or your favourite cake.
Cover and refrigerate to store.

Caramel Sauce! How can you live without this stuff on your Ice Cream, or Cake? If you’ve been scared off by all the warnings about how hard it is to make (sugar that crystalises into rock hard candy), don’t worry; this recipe has a bit of corn syrup in it. The syrup keeps the mixture liquid - easing your fears.

So sometimes when you are having dessert, like ice cream, or squares, maybe some cake, it's nice to have a little sauce that goes on top. So today I am going to make some Jack's Whiskey Buttermilk Butterscotch Sauce.
So we start by adding some butter. Give that a little melt. To our slightly melted butter we will add some sugar. I am just going to give that a little bit of a stir, some butter milk, and some corn syrup.
So stirring constantly, the butter will melt, everything will begin to blend together nicely. So the butter is melted. It's down to a light simmer. We just need to wait for the sugars to dissolve.
Alright. So that looks pretty good. I am going to turn that down, turn that off. Add the Jack Daniel's. That's quite a scent. Remember that although it needs to be clear, it's not going to look completely clear because of all the bubbles while you were simmering it.
So there you have it, Jack's Buttermilk Butterscotch Sauce, good for ice creams, squares, cake, anything you like. Test it with a lot of different things. I personally reality like it with Town Square Chess Squares.
